yes, sarcasm was the tone, partly to not seem as a personal attack('cause it wasn't), and also to poke fun at that overstated view.

the US gov't has MANY issues, at EVERY level, waaaaaaay beyond the oval office!

the prez DOES a lot, but is not that powerful. for a simple illustration, let's look at the VP of the US...

what does he/she do? not much beyond wait (and wait and wait) to stand in for an incapacitated prez and serve as a tie breaker to the senate(again wait for that to happen). but some would argue(another conspiracy), that the present VP is really running the show.

at work, our "water cooler" conversations include the latest catastophic events and their relation to the prez. even the W haters joke and realize that he is blamed for everything.

There will always be some corruption because man is corrupt. But, if you know business people from other countries you find out we have virtually no corruption compared with the rest of the world. That is why they immigrate here. Sure we have corruption, but if you believe every conspiracy theory out there I have some water I want to sell you to put in your gas tank for increased mileage.

The United States is far from perfect, and as long as you and I are in it it won't be! But spreading wild, unfounded stories as if they are truth... Make sure you do your own investigation, and not just read some crazy websites or blogs. If you are honest, you will realize you are better off here than anywhere else.
