Re: Celebrity Sighting in Sterling, VA!
My wife has an '87 Celebrity, but it's not in near as good condition as the one pictured. She bought it to learn how to drive since it's an automatic and all I had was straight shift cars. It had been wrecked in the front end, but it's drivable and street legal, she paid $75. for it several years ago. It's worth more than $75. now just for scrap metal. When she bought it the previous owner couldn't get it started, so I brought it home and started tinkering with it and was able to get it started, but it was only running on 2 cylinders. I made a trip to the junk yard and bought a used coil pack for $25. put it on and it's been running ever since. She's probably put less than $500 in it now, because I've had to replace the brakes, struts, serpentine belt and coolant hoses. I think it's had about 20K miles put on it since she bought it. It's not great on gas, but even with a 2.5L 4 cylinder and 3 speed automatic we can usually get 25-28 MPG with it.
