Car Makers / Their stated plans to stop making ICE cars

EV sales have 4x in the last 5 years.

Volvo has said their last ICE car will be made in 2020.

VW and Audi predicts 2025 will be their final ICE car production.

If you're driving an expensive ICE car, you might consider selling it before it quickly depreciates.

I'm driving a 2-year-old Audi Q5. Diesel. I'm hanging onto it. I'm sceptical about this whole "The ICE is falling! The ICE is falling!" rhetoric. I'm sure it'll eventually happen. I'm just skeptical that we'll see EV-only showrooms across North America, where I live, in 5 or so-years.

I'm not panicking, folks.

The next Mazda3 in 2018 will have a HCCI engine; a gasoline fueled ICE that uses compression like a diesel for ignition. The ICE will be around for the very least as a range extender for some plug ins.

There will be huge regional differences in the uptake of EV's, overpopulated cities like London which charge huge amounts just for ICE cars to enter will be first. Rural places like where I live will be the last sadly, which is a shame as my next car may be electric, depending on performance and cost. A model 3 would be ideal, but I feel the price may be higher than expected upon release, Tesla did that with the roadster and waiting customers weren't happy at all...

Paul, if you don't mind, what's the name of your town/village? I'd like to "fly in" with Google Maps and take a look.

It's Dolgellau (don't even try and say it, it has funny noises in it!) Won't take you long, it's a pretty small town of 3500 ish people.

"Dolgellau" looks like a French spelling. What's your history, Paul?

It's not especially old, started life as a village in 1198. Some Roman stuff found here, but think they were just passing through ha. Was popular with Quakers etc. There's some history here, but as far as British Historic towns go, this isn't anything special.
