There's a long, long story behind this 740iL, a story I'll get to later on. Let's just say this car was voted to be destroyed (one of the rituals of the 24 Hours of LeMons race has a popular vote selecting a single car to be picked out for destruction), and it survived the attempt, rejoining the race!

That Bimmer was asking for it the whole time. The body was in great shape, so it attracted plenty of attention. When it was on the course for practice the motor ran like crap. It sputtered and had no power. During tech inspection it ran like crap and sputtered. It got in because they claimed they bought it with a blown motor. But...
By the time the race started it ran very well. Hmmmm....
So it was voted 'Peoples Curse', then taken out to a pasture where they went at it with sledgehammers, pickaxes, and ultimately a heavy diesel shovel that picked it up a couple times and dropped it on end! Somehow their 'blown motor' survived and they soldiered on.
The Canola Rollaz car sounded awesome. The exhaust exited through the hood, you can see a short open pipe sticking up, so the whine of the turbo was noticeable. It sounded like a 18 wheeler. The driver was good, too. It was one of my favorites to watch.
