Thumbs down Auto parts price fixing

http://www.tirereview.com/Article/89...ing-Probe.aspx
The US, Japan, and other countries are investigating Denso, Mitsubishi Electric Corp., Hitachi Automotive Systems Ltd., Calsonic Kansei Corp., Mitsuba Corp., T.RAD Co., and Asmo Co., a Denso subsidiary for price-fixing and collusion.

I doubt that there will be any effect on parts prices.

Re: Auto parts price fixing

The good side is their products don't often need replacing anyway.

Re: Auto parts price fixing

I remember in the early 90's a friend of mine had bought a late 70's Honda Accord for $100. He ended up junking it because the starter went out, and a new starter was over $300. Told him a new starter for my Buick, with a lifetime warranty only cost me $40, buy domestic next time.
