Ask a question and get laughed at :(

No, not you guys. I just visited the local tax office after filing for my new car last week. I come in today with an appraisal from the Saturn dealership and she laughs at me . I think she has too much job security...

I was a bit tired, missed the S in last. I paid the taxes last week but was charged for a 2880 dollar car, she failed to mention that I didn't HAVE to pay for that and that I could get it appraised if I like (which I found later). The car appraised at 2000 so I went to get a refund of 55 dollars. She laughed and said I would need to talk to the comptroller. She then questioned the appraisal and said it is not valid since the dealership did not charge me for it... And that I would of had to pay atleast 100 dollars to the appraiser. I told here that it said less on the sign and she said I didn't read it right... I pointed at where it said MOST of the time it is 100-300 and that it can be anywhere from 30-400 and she said "you don't have a motorcycle" (it doesn't mention vehicle type anywhere)...

Ya, just an overall bad experience. That and it was after my 10 hour shift and was time for bed. Made it a bit worse.

Thanks for allowing me to rant. I found a form to send to the comptroller for a tax refund. One more thing to copy and mail...

That's why I hate paying taxes.... That and I don't approve of what my taxes go toward paying for.
