In Italy they have table wine, red wine to be consumed during dinner. One of my most favorite table beers is Pabst Blue Ribbon. It is lightly carbonated and pleasant to drink. I do love Guinness, but Sam Addams and Anchor Steam taste like canteen water. Beers are much like wines, few have a taste you want to drink again. When you find one, write it on your arm with a pen and stick with it.

Wine with a meal is civilized. But I prefer the pasta and dipping fresh bread in olive oil kind of dining.

presently i'm sick and eating my favorite meal at such times...minestrone w/ chicken soup and cheese puffs(for dipping in the soup). i don't drink, but my wife buys me jack daniels to shock my otherwise alcoholess cadaver.
