When You Forget to Record Your Odometer

Occasionally I forget to record the odometer reading when I fill up. This results in a HUGE HASSLE, lots of lost time and lots of swearing when I get to Fuelly.com and want to input.

Generally it's a month later when I realize it, and I end up trying to guess/fudge an odometer reading so the mileage graphs don't look insane with twice the actual miles/gallon. Inevitably I end up spending 20 minutes trying different numbers until I get it right.

The MISSED and PARTIAL fill up check boxes are not intuitive.

Why can't Fuelly just calculate the MPG over the two tankfuls and display that when it doesn't have an intermediate odometer reading?

It's probably easier than I'm making it. Maybe someone can tell me the right way to do it. Grrrr. Frustrating.

If you miss a fuelup, the Missed Fuelup box resets the starting point for calculations.

In your case, if you fudged the odometer on the fuelup, you could check that as a partial fuelup, then the mileage and fuel added will be rolled into the next fuelup. Then, the fuel efficiency shown will be the average of the two (or more) fuleups.
