Need a stat for gallons consumed this month

I would love to see a mini stat available in the list that shows 'gallons consumed so far this month', so that I can compare directly to 'gallons consumed last month.' The reason I want this option is that I have a choice on my daily commute: A longer route for better mpg, or a shorter route for lower mpg. By my calculations I would still use the least amount of gas by taking the shorter route with poorer mpg. If the goal is to use the least gas (and produce the least CO2 and spend the least $$$), rather than to maximize mpg, such a statistic should be made available. Thanks for considering this suggestion! It would be good for the planet and our wallets!
