Facebook and what is shared/shown?

I just joined and so be gentle!
Added a car, added a test fuel fillup and authorised facebook sharing. The fillup appears on facebook, cool and good except all my notes (i thought would be personal as they are not authorised in the settings, now appear as well. So the warning is that anything on fuelly is shared on facebook? Yes I logged out from fuelly first before checking facebook and the link action.

Or is there ways to restrict data sharing in detail.

If sharing then cant add notes and remonders?
Or is it better to have no sharing and somehow manually add the thing off fuelly to facebook?

How do people manage this sharing but also private note/reminders/etc?
