Facebook
I'd like to have a Facebook thing that allows me to continually have something like the signature banner on my FB profile at all times. Thanks!

We would if we could, but as far as I know Facebook doesn't allow you to put a permanent banner anywhere on your pages. If you want to let people know when you fuel-up, you could take a look at the instructions here for using a Fuelly RSS feed to import fuel-ups to Facebook. I posted that last year, but the process should roughly be the same.

I think it would have to be a Facebook app. It would be nice if some savvy Facebook app developer who happens to also be into fuelly could look at the problem. I can't imagine it's very hard.

CindiK, what do you want to be able to do at Facebook? Enter fuel-ups there?

i think that if something like the twitter app, where it auto updated your status to the fuelly post and had a link, options to follow, etc.

The lose it app (for weight loss) is a similar app. The app posts your exercise calories used and weight loss to facebook as motivation to do better. Perhaps something similar:
I just fueled up, 38.4 mpg which is 3.2 mpg higher than average.
Or
I just fueled up, 33.9 mpg which is 3.2 mpg lower than average.

ok, I see. I'm not trying to be mean with this comment I'm genuinely curious—do you like apps that do that? I don't use Facebook that much, but when I do log in I find all of those I exercised today and I just planted a virtual garden updates annoying. I know people must like them, I'm just not sure I want to create one of those because I personally don't enjoy them. I'd rather see human-written messages from my friends than messages from the programs they use. The same is true at Twitter which I use way, way more. I usually unfollow anyone who has a bunch of automated updates.
I understand Facebook is hot and everyone is there, I'm just not sold on app integration.

the trick is how it's used. if someone puts 10 updates in an 20 min, like anything it's annoying. but if it's 1 update every 2-3 days and the person is active it just kinda gets absorbed

that and if a person does not like an app, they have an option to block it's data from their update stream (like mafia wars)

Personally, I have almost no facebook friends who use fuelly or are interested in logging mileage. Those who are interested are already on fuelly, so I would not be interested in a facebook app. I'm also the kind of guy that hides basically every game or application from my news feed though.
