Email fill up info instead of text/SMS

Suggestion: Email in fill up info instead of texting.

I only have a limited number of texts on my phone but I have unlimited data. I do not live in the US so my text messaging plan does not even include messages to the US and they are very expensive (over $0.50 per message). I would like the option to email in my fillups so I don't need to spend as much time messing with the web interface on my phone when I fill up.

We've thought about this in the past and the trouble we always run into is processing the wide variation in email that can come in. People use thousands of different email clients, some use HTML, some don't. Some have vacation auto-responders. Some people get viruses that send spam to all addresses in their email address book.

I know it's possible to filter all of those things, we just haven't had the resources to tackle a project that size. I agree it would be a nice addition, but we're not quite ready to do it now.

Pretty much the only way to do this would be to use the email subject line (no complications regarding mime etc).

That's true, MMUK. That might be a good way to do it. It'd take some serious user education to pull off, but it'd sidestep most of the formatting problems.
