Re: Cycling in 2010

Rode today in 40 degree (F) weather, one of the last rides, my km total is approaching 2340. I'd like to get two or three more rides in.

I am planning on getting a new Colnago Master X-lite next year. That would be my first new bike in 33 years.

Nice!

My season ended at 2330 km. Next year, new bike and a Gran Fondo are on the cards.

Re: Cycling in 2010

Well I skipped the Colnago Master, it would have cost over 8 Grand with the basic Record group....

On December 29th I bought my new bike, the first one since 1978. It is a 2010 model Cerv?lo RS, 58 cm frame, Ultegra equipment throughout, except for the wheels which are MAVIC Ksyrium SL, with my favourite tires, Michelin Krylion Carbon. I am looking forward to riding it, other than the short test ride I made today....

Re: Cycling in 2010

Where's the picture of new bike?

Went out for my last ride this year, 12 rolling miles in 40 degree F temp.
Closing out this year with 1661.4 miles, starting tomorrow with another 12 miles for year 2011.

Here you go:

The photo was taken Saturday, after a 27 km ride.

Re: Cycling in 2010

2010 total: 587.74 miles That's my own fault.
I've also (finally) completed another bike for myself: a 57 cm Vitus 979. This one allowed me to use all that French threaded Super Record stuff I've been holding onto. I found my other Flickstand to use , but have lost the blue 'Cobalto' stones from the brakes
More precipitation forecast for tonight, so more snow and slush on the roads in the morning. More driving miles (excuses, excuses).

Looks to me you need a bigger bike/frame.

Re: Cycling in 2010

It was professionally F.I.S.T fitted, and the bike is 3 inches lower than where I am standing (driveway drain).

As a bike rider/racer/mechanic for over 20 years, I never trust those "professional bike fitting", especially those that put you on a stationary type trainer.
Optimal riding position needs to be determined on rides, on climbs, downhills, sprinting for the next pole, flat-out in a paceline at 25 mph and most important at sustained cadence of +120 rpm.
