I finally got around to adding my bike pics. Its a trek 7100, 700c rims, aluminum frame, basic junk. It set up with a lights and pannier bag and rack. I also made a real simple handle bar mount for my flashlight out of 10 gauge THHN wire.
I got this cannondale trailer off craigslist for $15. I sold my burley solo for 10 times that. The original hitch was really crude. It quick snapped to the seat post. It was designed to "twist" but all it really did was restrict movement in every direction, to the point that the kick stand wasn't needed. The trailer tongue kept hitting the bike rack. I finally came up with a decent 3 axis design that worked. I'm sure I'm not the first person to figure out a socket swivel works perfect for this. The third axis is achieved by a threaded rod thats welded into the swivel end that threads into a nut welded to the front of the trailer. I was determined to fab it from junk I had around the complex. The steel is from an antique bedframe, the seat post clamp from a junked bike, the 1/2" swivel(well that wasn't free initially.
