Tesla Model 3 Production Numbers

After Tesla sells more than 200,000 EVs in the US, their costumers will no longer be able to get the $7,500 discount from the government. They are predicting this will happen sometime this year, Tesla sold around 150,000 cars in the US so far. The 200,000 EVs sold applies to all manufacturers.

Production numbers so far:

Here in the UK the grant is not governed by sales of vehicles, just by emissions. Any of the plug in battery vehicles qualify. The grant will pay for 35% of the purchase price for these vehicles, up to a maximum of £4,500. I know Tesla's sales in the UK are far less than than in the US, with some 30,000 European sales last year. Perhaps Tesla will up manufacture of RHD versions of the Model 3!

I considered reserving x2 model 3's as investments, keep one for myself, and sell the other for profit with the added benefit of "no waiting list". However, production for rhd versions doesn't begin until the end of this year, I'd be lucky to see them in 2019. Plus id have to keep the cost below the 40k pound luxury car tax threshold, which would mean pretty Spartan spec sheets. Just wish they'd release the uk prices.

I'm kind of going off the model 3 a little, the more videos I watch of it, the more flaws I see, it's a good electric car, but its not a great car. Its never going to drive as well as those who have been manufacturing cars for 100 years or more, those that know how to set up a car for fide, handling etc etc.

The tax credit won't be completely cut off with the 200kth car sold. It will remain for the quarter in which that delivery takes place. The quarter after that, the credit is cut in half. It might still be in effect at a quarter of the original in the following quarter.

It appears Tesla is managing their deliveries to maximize the number of customers that get a credit.

The cars do have quality issues, but the owners still love them. For last years customer satisfaction survey, only three brands got the highest rating; Chrysler, Porsche, and Tesla.

Hi folks, I see, that this thread is quite old, but I just stepped in as a new owner of the Tesla Model 3. I must say, I am in love with it. Yes, I had it for slightly over a month, but I completely agree with the results of the survey I see above, about the customer satifaction.

For now, I haven't noticed things that irritate me or something I don't really like. Also, I used to have Chrysler Crossfire (it was sold around 2 years ago), and I loved it!

I was in a Model 3 a few months ago on a test drive, and I understand why so many people like the car. It's still a bit too rich for my blood, but it's a nice car and it is outselling everything out there:
