N600 vs. VW Bug?

I beg to differ about the cost of lithium battery electronics. Don't be so pessimistic about the cost of providing the necessary protection circuits.

Valence Technology already sells batteries with the electronics integrated with and installed inside the battery case. Check out the link:

The EV future is here NOW with lithium batteries, regeneration and AC motors. I hope GM and Ford wake up before Toyota eats their lunch.

Neither of these cars are very aerodynamic. Aero drag is what kills range.

Of those I linked, I'd say the best candidate would be a Fiat 600. Although, it is possible to aeromod the hell out of a VW Bug, which would do wonders for range.
