bought another electric motor (trolling)

Someone was selling a used 17 lb thrust Minnkota like this for $30. Couldn't stop myself...

I don't fish, but there's no shortage of boats (& batteries) around here to play with this.

Regular pedal boats with the paddle wheels seem really inefficient. If the generator had some gearing then you could adjust the pedaling speed and effort to whatever you wanted...

Anyway, I know you have other priorities. I just think it's cool that you might find an innovative use for the little boat motor.

I've got the motor and the canoe.
Now what do I do?

Maybe I should put the new bike in the canoe.

Actually I thought that this motor might run hot if not immersed in cold water. I bought one too.

yeah they are water cooled, not very efficient and have brushes that eventually wear out and carbon up the insides like crazy. I was working with eCycle a few years ago redesigning a brushless version for Johnson that never took off.
