Yeah, breezy conditions made for interesting times with mine too.

What's the rating on your motor? Thrust lbs? Looks similar to mine in size.

I'm guessing 10lbs, top speed won't be much but it should run for a while even without many speeds to choose from. Might get interesting if I take the canoe on the metro then use the metro battery to run the canoe, i.e. park on a large hill and cross fingers

Well considering I ran mine almost exclusively on the lowest power setting (1 out of 4, where 4 = 17 lbs), I'm guessing it was delivering probably more like 5 lbs.

Unfortunately, I don't have a boat suitable to use it now. The canoe I used it on came with the cottage we rented in July.

Forgot to mention that I did a rough calculation of top speed on flat water with no wind, and it was something around 8 km/h (5 mph).

The gas motor on the 24 foot sailboat that I race on gave up the ghost on Tuesday, so I brought down the Minn Kota and the old starting batt from the ForkenSwift for last night's race.
