The price of fuel in the UK is about 3 times the US price. Grants to buy have been phased out though. You can buy an EV out of your gross monthly pay. This means you can save on income tax and national insurance payments and enjoy cheaper monthly car payments.
Home charging makes a huge difference to running costs and if you have solar panels, especially with battery storage, running costs can be minimal. And if you buy a used car and like me, keep your car for a long time, depreciation falls away too.

I wouldn't get one unless I could either charge at home or work. My electric is 34 pence per KWH, but all the public chargers here are 79 pence. Public charging would make fuelling an EV similar to running my Porsche on a decent run. Having said that, I live within a 100 mile radius of everything I ever want or need, very rarely would I take a trip longer than the battery range, the UK is pretty tiny. We do get ripped off here, public charging in Europe is just as cheap as home charging.

Their math is sloppy. From the numbers they provided, I'm getting $165 lower than they did for the Kona EV in electric costs.

Using 2020 fuel prices is shady, as is a mix of model specific and generic segment values.
