The production Aptera is here
Aptera has 30,000 reservations and production is scheduled to start early next year; the factory will start with 4,000 cars per year. Check out the production version:

Such an interesting vehicle, I'd love to drive one. With such small production numbers, I doubt I'll ever see one, and the market is probably too small to sell in the UK, but never say never I guess. Fingers crossed it eventually makes it to our shores!

That's interesting and definitely unique. I wonder if I'll ever see one. To learn more: https://aptera.us/

Starts at $25,900. And they reckon that the daily miles I do, I would never need to charge it, even here in darkest Scotland.

It says I would never need to charge either and given my average of 9.97 miles per day since buying my car I'm sure that's correct. The only issue would be choosing max range capacity. For me 400 miles would get to either daughter without time out to stop and charge.

Wouldn't you need to stop and charge anyway? I recently did a 448 mile trip, I managed 5 hours (224 miles) without stopping, but a toilet break was due. Don't think I could do more than 230 miles without having to stop for a food/drink/toilet break.

With our next energy price hike due in October, electric cars will be more expensive to fuel than petrol or diesel, when using public chargers. But with something so sleek and efficient, I'm sure that would bring the cost per mile back down.
I'm sure this is a temporary issue, government intervention will hopefully control and/or reduce energy prices here.

I would stop every 2-3 hours on a trip no matter what vehicle. To go see daughters would be ~ 280 or 380 miles so in theory with the solar gain while driving, provided it's daytime, plus regenerative braking, I'd make it to either one easily without needing to charge along the way. Worst case I guess would require a Nascar/Indy "splash and go" stop. I don't know how fast it charges with solar so unless I was staying a while I might need to plug in at their place to recharge to get home but the 400 mile range should work in both directions.
