Hi Chris,

While I didn't read the book, I'd argue that what may or may not have happened thirty years ago in Alaska can not be used to make sweeping generalizations today about Democrats, Republicans, environmentalists, or the status of our petroleum reserves.

For a more recent (2005) and apolitical article on petroleum production limits, I recommend, "Clarifying the Limits of Petroleum Production" by Ben Ebenhack:

Oh, and the "Fair Tax" is anything but.

FWIW, I did buy a GMC truck today...

Cheers,
Bill

To be fair... I was at the car lot last weekend and found that full size trucks have massive price reductions. Dodge is giving their $2.99 promotion and the trucks are getting over $9000 off sticker.

People keep posting this conservative propaganda but global warming and the price of fuel are INTERNATIONAL problems. It's not a Democrat conspiracy, sorry.

my name is not Chris, it's Scott. my signature is in reference to Chris Sligh(formerly on American Idol, which i do not watch BTW). his song "Empty Me" would do all of us(especially politicians) much good if we lived it!

you didn't read the book? i read your article. interesting how the author agrees that there is plenty of oil, but lack of refining is the cause of the high price. THAT is my point. let's drill domestically, but also we need more refineries.

i also like the part about sensational claims and news worthyness. sound familiar? like man made global warming!

the fair tax? let's see...

the rich, poor, and middle classes all pay the same % based on purchases. buy more, pay more taxes.
illegals, those working under the table, and the dishonest cannot cheat their taxes.
the poor STILL get earned income and etc.
eliminate(super downsize) the IRS saving tax payers billions!

what's not fair?

my mistake, forgot that ALL left views are based on science, while the right is propaganda or rhetoric.

and ONLY credible scientists support man made global warming. international prices huh? gas is really expensive in iran or saudi arabia right?

further more, my experience in gov't and my military contacts mean nothing. so, that's it, NO conspiracies!

these clinton cool-aid drinkers need to change their brand. oh yes, i forgot, the new one is obama(bahama)mama.
