They don't mention the worst of the BMC cars, the 1100. These had a seam under the boot floor where the lower panel faced the front meaning that all the water salt and slush were driven into the gap between the panels leading to massive rust. A mate of mine had a problem one evening while driving home from work. He stopped at the first garage he came to and they pointed out that the only thing holding the boot floor with attached suspension was the seam along behind the rear bumper. Needless to say, he got the bus home from there.
A great pity as they were comfortable roomy cars with good economy for their time. The Vanden Plas Princess version was a jewel with the interior like a Roller.
