Smile how efficient are the european tires??

this disscusion reminded me of how far ahead the foreign mfgs seem to be ... my first vw bug had 100000 US miles on the origional "tyres" when i parted with it ..AND they still had good tread ! and it went thru the snow better than any us made car of that era (60's) ...dddon

I remember The RoadWarrior..To understand who he was, you have to go back to another time..the world was powered by the black fuel & the desert sprouted great cities..Gone now, swept away..two mighty warrior tribes went to war & touched off a blaze which engulfed them all. Without fuel, they were nothing..thundering machines sputtered & stopped..Only those mobile enough to scavenge, brutal enough to pillage would survive. The gangs took over the highways, ready to wage war for a tank of juice

The only reason I put a new set of Michelin MXV+4 Energy's on my 960 last fall is because of an in store rebate at the time. $125 per tire was a bargain I couldn't pass up. Those same tires run close to $160 each today.
