"there is no way you can prioritize economy over ecology."
somehow I just don't believe that phrase. all ecological conservation efforts will cease if an economic meltdown occurs.
not saying we should stop pursuing alternatives, never did, never will, BUT we should stop sending oil dollars outside of the country.
can't see why that's so hard to understand. keep pursuing ecological advancements but reduce foreign oil dependency.
many ecological types don't see that it can work.
eventually we will get rid of oil as fuel, but for now, let's keep the oil dollars here at home...you can even use some of the profits to fund research on alternative fuels instead of sending it to terrorist sponsor countries.
a lot of environmental activist think that we can simply turn off oil and use an alternative fuel. IT WILL NEVER WORK THAT WAY, IT NEVER HAS AND IT NEVER WILL. for every technological breakthrough, implementation is slow and is never abrupt.
new technology you're talking about can't be bought by majority of Americans. so while we wait for the technology to become affordable you intend to keep buying oil from foreign countries. and that war for oil you're talking about will end if we drill oil locally.
don't just open your eyes, open your mind.
