A friend of mine looked at buying a brand-new Ferrari and the servicing requirements scared him off. The £100,000 (at that time) price didn't phase him but the level of servicing required and the cost of said servicing did. if you strip and rebuild something every few thousand miles it should be reliable.

Yes, I had a 911 for a few years and it was expensive whenever it went to the shop. Luckily with a large dry sump it was longer intervals but it could add up.

Occasionally I look at the California, looks a fairly decent daily for a Ferrari which is probably why there are so many "high mileage" examples. Do worry about the servicing costs though, but generally a lot of Ferrari's slowly increase in value. Meh, we'll see, if I ever seen my house and downsize, the Boxster will be the deposit and cover almost 50% of the purchase cost.

I want a '70s 365GTB/4 but that's lotto money territory. Amazing sounding V12 though.

The only Ferrari I could get in and out of these days would be their SUV. Wouldn't say no to one of them.

Yes, and I'm sure it's great. I just have it in my mind the 365 has the best V12 ever. No evidence of that, just my opinion/bias.
