metro aero mods

OK guys help me out here. I have a Suzuki swift (same as a metro) and i recently was forced to do a little body work (hit another deer man do i have bad luck or not). So i ended up replacing the hood and front bumper cover and support and headlights. but I didn't have the right plastic finder liner so i went without it for a while. well i got one and put it in and guess what FE seems to have dropped by about 1 mpg. I would have thought the car was better off with the liner in place and i can't see a reason why it would be more efficient without it. has anybody else ran a metro without the finder liners and seen an improvement?

Deer suck ive hit 2 and ive been driving for a year!! they were within one 2 months of eachouther 2. i dont think that that has anything to do with the 1mpg thats so little that i could be tire psi and a bunch of outher things put together to = 1 mpg

deer is pushing up daises. anyway been tracking my fe for a while and got the car pretty well sorted out, saw a pretty consistent drop with only change being the liner, looks like i will have to find a warm day this summer and run a baseline then pop it out and try again-
