Believe it or not, it really changes the character of the car. It looks like a european sport wagon now, before it looked like a dowdy mom-mobile.

in europe they have racks too but yes it looks much more lithe

we will see if there is any improvement in milage (I'm betting there is....) I will be driving out of state in the morning and that will hopefully show a gain.

good luck. I hope you see a difference and it was worth taking it off. If it doesn't work, it looks better with them on. Just sayin. Sorry if that didn't help at all.

the racks make it look like your roof line is higher and gives it a cooler look. BUT, I hope you do see gains from your trip so you feel better about it.

I like the lower look and even if I don't see a gain I will leave it off. I am pretty sure I will see a healthy gain because the rack added a lot of frontal area and caused a lot of turbulence.

what did you do about the mounting holes???

I guess I am asking more, what does it look like from above. I assume you have 6 places on your roof of some sort.
