Most of the pics of diesel hybrids I've seen have been concepts or one-offs. I didn't know any were being mass produced.
This one is a different choice of managing the mechanical connection between the ICE, road, and elec motor seem over engineered. It's just a clutchless gear-dog connection with electronic match-speed engine control. Not new materials, but I thought it was a more elegant alternative to things like the dual-elec-motor/clutched-planetary/cvt/gearbox of the prius. Maybe some of us GSers might be able to adapt them to a project.
But maybe not.
Don't let my naive interest in a new design interrupt anyone's apathy. I have my moments too.
