Yeah I would have pulled a few tasty bits off and asked $1000 any car that starts stops and goes on it's own is worth that anymore. Even if it needed work. Unless it was a good friend. I look at it like this if you sold it within a week and or they didn't try to hggle you down then too cheep. You could have got some junkyard/craigslist steel wheels for $100 you could have got $ for those. All to late now personally I would have kept it till I had to spend $ for registration. I just paid for mine so. 2 cars till next year. I like that if the weather is really bad I can drive the one that's not as pretty. If I put it in a ditch (I live it the country) or some one hits me then I won't feel so bad.

Well, no one on here seemed interested in it, of course I wasn't describing it in a way that made it very delectable.

Around here a car like that goes for $400-600. $700 might be possible if there is a buyer who knows what a VX is. $1000 is quite unlikely and may require a whole lot of patience...

Thanks Holycow, that's kinda how I saw it, too. I'm not sure the guy really knew what a VX was. Rusty is probably right, I probably could have put on steel wheels and he would still have bought the car at $700. But that's time and money to find the wheels and take them off and put them on (I don't have a lift). But, yeah, might have been nice to have a spare set of VX wheels to throw snows on or to sell to a fellow GS member. On the other hand, it's nice to know the little VX will continue on as it was intended. That is, of course, the guy isn't planning on changing everything out on the car.
