Toyota Avalon Engine Off Coasting

How to Tow a Toyota Avalon Behind an RV | eHow

This article claims that Avalons older than 2008 can be flat towed if a transmission lube pump is installed.

For short periods, would I be able to engine off coast without damage, without installing the lube pump?
