I've never heard of that- but it sounds easier than the rope trick- just pour oil in the spark plug hole and fill up the cylinder then reinstall spark plug?

If you don't time the stroke correctly you could end up shoving all that oil into the exhaust or the intake...I have the fortune of having it happen

So basically you'll want to find TDC on #1 then go backwards about 1/8 stroke before filling...but totally at your own risk! I'd personally find another way.

PS My crx almost lifted itself off the jackstands and blocks using the starter motor/breaker bar method!
