As long as the oil doesnt look like a chocolate milkshake, the bearings in the bottom of the motor should be fine. If the oil does look terrible, your bottom end might be garbage too. Hopefully you can get away with just replacing the head gasket, and shaving the head for straightness.

ok, when I check it out, I will look at the oil and the spark plugs to see if there are any issues. I'm hoping its just the head issue. What is a Honda SX?

I think he meant the Si model. That is the 1.6 liter motor that uses a three layer head gasket. basically a layer of metal sandwiched between two layers of rubber, it makes for a great seal.
For the $800 price tag, if the bosy is in decent shape then I'd go for it since It would cost less than $50 to replace the headgasket myself. Of course, if the head needs work, it would be more than that.

Yeah the body is in good shape with only some scratches and a small dent in the hood. The driver's seat has some rips, but thats about it. I'll post the pics I got of it.

Complete engines are cheap. Find a JDM engine importer.

yeah 78si, I think that would be the best way to go. The engine already has 175k on it. Speaking to a few Honda repair shops, two said they would only do an engine swap, 2 said if you do the top end, eventually you will have to do the bottom end, and I gave me a price of $800 to replace the gasket and resurface or mill the head. I would be better off saving a bit more money and finding one with no major engine issues so I'll pass on this one. Almost had one.

head gaskets shouldn't blow on their own, look for other problems with the car that show signs of abuse and fix them.
