VX engine and Trans?

Hi All,

What is a realistic price to pay for a VX engine and transmission?

Also which Honda's will this engine and trans fit in with no mods to the shell

Thanks in advance,

Bill

I paid my transmission 400 CAN$ + taxes 3 years ago. It was a used one. I put 40k miles on it and still going well. It was overpriced probably. Still its the same transmission as a CX (92-95) so it is probably a CX...

Anyway, for the tranny you could find one for 200 US$

I've been looking for them as well and I find engines for $300-400 w/ $150-250 shipping, transmissions are in the $150 range, but shipping is another $75-100.

Total? Probably close to $600 if you get lucky, $800 if you don't.

there is an engine and tranny together for sale on craigslist in Minneapolis for $250 I paid $150 just for my vx tranny two years ago from a junk yard and felt it was a good price and because you didn't say where you are I guess we can assume that location is not an issue.

I guess I'm the exception to the rule, lol. I got my spare Z1 for free. Thank goodness for ricers that think this motor is worthless.

I got VX tranny and engine for $250 from Ebay a couple months ago - picked it up in MA. I got it for spare parts though, if you want a replacement engine to swap, ~$600 for JDM, shipped, sounds about right.

Hey Bill, I'm near Minneapolis!

The VX engine and trans will drop straight into any 92-95 civic chassis. In fact I just helped a buddy drop a D15Z1 into his Del Sol last week. He's running a Chipped ECU though to make the swap easier.

The wiring for that swap is a little more work if you want to use the stock P07 and 5 wire O2. That is something that I could most likely help you out with when you get the chassis and drivetrain.

vx engin & Trans

Hi Tom,

Thanks it would be greatly appreciated! I was just wondering if it would fit in another newer civic hatch with more options like AC, cruse, NO RUST! PM me your number and I will send you mine. I have a brand new 2+ car garage I just built in the hood.

I sold my other car about 3 months ago so the wife and I have been shearing one car a 98 subaru forester which only gets about 24 mpg hwy.

Yesterday, I finally fixed my 1990 toyota corolla gts. A very sporty car that gets good millage but I still have some work to do on it. I still would like to buy a civic VX.
