When my speedometer/odometer are not working, my Shift light still comes on.

UPDATE!!!! The VX takes a "special" VSS, its the one at advance auto parts the brand name is Niehoff, Nippon Seiki. Cost anywhere between 100-125. I tried 5 speed senors, then i tried this one. WORKS GREAT. after about 100 miles no problems to speak of yet!!

I have noticed that some D-series Honda trans VSS have metal gears whereas the VX ones are usually plastic.
Does this sound correct from your experience with these VSS?

I had a CEL on mine once due to corrosion at the VSS plug, but thankfully my 253k mi VSS and cluster are still good in my VX.

Yes Sir the cluster for the speedometer was bad, so instead of replacing the whole cluster with another one, i just replaced the circuit board of the speedometer of the cluster, easy fix
