I bought a new cable, took the screw just below the headlight out, then the other 2 screws out behind the top of the shield. The old cable was pulled out and I ran the new one from the top down and put in through the bracket at the bottom. Works ok now. I had to use an inpact screwdriver to get that front screw loose. The headlight casing is made of plastic.
