In my car, the tach replaces a large clock that used to be in the instr. cluster (OEM was to have either a clock or a tach in that position). If yours is that way, see what the oem design did to provide a clock for cars with tach, and get that for your car too.
okay... the image of a giant clock where the tach is cracks me up.
