I have spark, at least on cylinder #1, so I don't think that's the problem.

All that's left is timing, and that scares me.

Matt: I don't mean to be a pain ITA, but their are a number of thing's it could be or is, still. Timing isn't that tough, but you will have to get back to basics and go through, methodically, one step at a time, to create a foundation.

It has to be hot, and that sun can be a cooker.

Did you try spraying carb cleaner down the throat of the intake?
I know you presumed your timing belt was Ok, don't, check it out. Make sure that it's lined up, in the right orientation. Last belt I did, I got it on, off one tooth, 180 degrees out and it took me 2x through to figure out what I was doing to shoot myself in the foot.
Set up your distributor, like I described.
Check the wiring. Check the plugs.

p.s. try not to be to short or harsh on the people trying to help you and encvourage you.

Good advice. I should just not post until I've had food, as I tend to be a bit short with people when I'm hungry. My apologies.

I'm going to try using carb cleaner to see if I can get it started that way. I'll then take the timing belt cover off and make sure it's all lined up correctly. After that I'll double check the distributor wiring as well as the fuel injector wiring. Never hurts to check again.

Thanks everyone for the encouragement.

Matt: If you can arrange it, maybe you could go outside and have a HUGE water fight!

LOL! Not only do i live in the desert, but I live the mountains... it's so hot here, and dry to boot.

Anyway, good news.

Bagpipe Goatee asked me a very simple question on instant messenger. He asked if my firing order was right. I double checked the firing order, and much to my surprise it was off.

rearranged the plugs and it started right up.

WOO HOO!

I have another day or so of getting everything else put back together, but at least the car starts. The rest is easy.

Thanks everyone for you help on this one. Hopefully now I can KDA in a mean way

Congrats, Matt. Glad is was something relatively simple. Firing order...wouldn't have even have thought of that one.
