For the life of me I wasn't able to figure out why my engine suddenly started knocking.
Most of you have heard me ask several times about this.
Well, I fixed it today.
Turns out it was caused from switching out my 180 degree thermostat for a 195.
Today I bought a 180 degree thermostat and the engine knock has gone away.
I know my engine is old but it's in good condition. I have corrected all known issues and as far as the pinging goes this was the ONLY thing left to do.
So if anyone else is thinking about switching to a higher thermostat for better fuel savings......keep in mind that one of the side effects may be pinging.
Just wanted to share my experience.
