I finally got a chance to work on these again today, I bought a pad at the $ store that looks a lot like a chunk of pumice with a sponge attached to one side. I pulled out my trusty pocket knife and cut off a smaller piece, dipped it in hot water and scrubbed like hell on the rim.

Works like a charm! Black crud came right off, not too much effort, either. I discovered that after scrubbing for a while, it forms a paste and that really does it. Used a damp rag with the paste and these rims are clean!

Tires are showing up tomorrow, lug nuts are here already, about to get this party started....

Good job guys!! there's nothing like a clean set of VX wheels. I think the design is awesome and the low weight is crazy. I like paying less than $40 bucks per tire.
