PS, I don't think your cap will fit this dizzy so you'll need one of those, too,

This swap has new potential, as Ben has found a whole d15b8 out in Reading, and would like to use that while I would just swap heads with his b8 head. I am not sure if I am going to do the swap this time, but am resurrecting this thread nonetheless in the hopes that it will inspire me to make the right decision.

swap is $70 and includes:

D15B8 whole engine
Intake Manifold
Intake Arm (extra $5)

Ben has:
Dizzy

I would still need:

Throttle Body
P05 ecu
ecu plugs (matt has them. hi matt. )
IM gasket
TB gasket
head gasket

I backed out last time, after Ben set it all up, cuz it seems like a lot for the measly mpg gains it would bring as compared to a z1 swap.
But Ben has just reminded me it would be also so I could be obd1 and get a MID. We shall see.

You asked about gasket cost. I screwed burns honda into giving me MSRP, so it'd be 30.88 for a d16y8 HG and 12.95 for an IM gasket, like 2 bucks for the TB gasket.

Wow, that's not bad at all. But it adds up.... and is really as much as a vx swap?

gaskets: $45.00
head/im: $70.00
dizzy: ?
ecu: $20.00 maybe
distributer cap: $20.00
ecu plugs: ?
throttle body: $30.00 maybe
gas to get it: $10.00

all said and done, and it looks like well over $200, maybe $250.

I am going away on August 17 , and this is again looking like it would seriously tear into my funds, as I have already just scored a set of vx rims from Dan.
Maybe it would be smarter to wait for a vx swap, like the one on ebay I stupidly missed by a split second at the end of the auction. Doh!

Let's just do yours, so your car is ready to sit comfortably in the garage for the next year.

My car looks like it was in a wreck right now. I might end up short on money too, going to the aquarium with my friend on thursday, Hopefully the job will pay and I'll do a strut job and get some money for that stuff. *shrug* I'll make it happen!

which aquarium? at least i can give you a spare valve cover you could make a couple bucks on. i'd give you the steelies, but i'll prolly use em for winter tires, if 13" winter tires even make any sort of difference. they're prolly like ice skates. Not that you'd make much on steel rims anyway.

You want my steelies? Haha. Screw that. I need to organize all my stuff, no one wants it anyway. What I need is a cx so that my freaking alternator will match the crank pulley. Damnit, mehbe I'll just buy the one in reading. , this isn't working out well at all!

Or you could buy a tow truck, drive out to the midwest and pick up the $100 vx i just found on ebay.
