Replace the driveshaft seals! Make sure you don't damage them putting them in though, you can use a pvc pipe to hit it all around evenly and not damage the rubber.

Also, take the bolts off the torque converter from the driver side (after removing the cover plate) before removing the auto tranny, it'll make life much easier.

the main reason I like a clean tranny, is that to get it in, you often have to lay under the car and use brute force, and having something clean to hold on to can be nice, without getting dirt in your eyes, it also makes it so when you do things like installing your drive shafts that if you bump the tranny with them that you aren't getting dirt on oiled moving parts, so it just makes sence to me to clean a part befor installing it, a few minutes with a presure washer, and you would be suprized, that and if you have a leak at some point it will be easyer to see.

Very, very good points, noted.

Cheap Degreaser

I use dollar-store oven-cleaner to degrease my engines/transmissions. It works great and is cheap too!

The oven-cleaner works even better when heated up by leaving the part in the Sun awhile...

Sent payment off for the tranny today. He said it will go out either Friday or Monday.

Finally found one.

Now I am just going to need LOTS of little bits and pieces to be able to do the swap. If anyone is selling something that I would nedd then please let me know! I might not even know that I will need it.

Done forget flywheel and clutch bolts, , you can always buy them at honda, since they require tranny removal to get at a junkyard.

Tranny Arrival

Just accepted delivery of the tranny and I am psyched to finally have it.

Did have some questions and pictures.

- In Picture #1 you can see a good ding. Will that interfere with anything?

- In pictures #2 and #3 does it look like the tranny mount is bent or is that how it is supposed to be?

- Does it look OK overall to you guys?

1.

2.

3.

4.

5.

You'll have to rebend that nick in picture one, but it should be okay.

That mount looks okay to me.

I would replace the axle seals while it's out. Get them from Honda. 3rd party seals always suck and are never correct.

Also, get a new throwout bearing too. you don't need to go to Honda for that.

oh, get two cans of brakekleen and prepare to be amazed. :P
