Re: 500k

Well, I'm not gonna be of much help in that case!

Good luck!

I'm sorry to hear about your dad.

Actually, I live about 15 miles west of Elkton, KY.

I don't know of any job openings though- several factories have cut back/closed in the immediate area (including a large one in Cadiz KY) and there are lots of people around here looking for work.

My wife's been getting in a few applications and I'm going to type her up a resume' tomorrow so hopefully something will turn up soon. You must live somewhere between Elkton and Hopkinsville??? I was born and raised in Elkton, but ended up working in the construction field so I ended up moving to the Charlotte, NC area back in the early '80's where there's been a construction boom going on for years and have been here ever since. I've made efforts several times before to get back in the Elkton area, but this time with it only being mom left living we are going to stick to trying to get moved until some type of job comes up.

Yep- I live just outside of Hopkinsville.

I hope the job search goes well. Send me a PM if there is something I can help you with.

All that I can ask from you is if you hear of anywhere in the Elkton, Hopkinsville, Russellville, Clarksville or Greenville area doing any hiring is that you try to get me an address where we can either request an application or send a resume. The only thing is that the job has to be full time with benefits, because with all my health problems we can't afford to have to pay insurance premiums directly from our own pocket long term. We realize that even with a new job we'll probably have to pay out of pocket for 3-6 months, but that's better than moving and it maybe turning into a year or two.

I got busy today and wrote my wife a resume, so hopefully she'll be able to get the word out about looking for a job quicker and easier.

We also got some good news today. My son who just graduated from high school the night before my dad's death and moved from NC to KY to live with my mom until we could get moved got a call today for a full time job. He is currently going to be working for a company through a temporary service, but I know that usually if they make good employees the company hires them on full time on their payroll.
