1992 Honda VX Code 41

Hello Guys

This is My First post here, happy to be here.

I have a 92 vx that I do most of the work on. it has 225k on it and runs well.

This Last week the Check engine light came on a shift light no longer working.
I pulled the code and its 41....The O2 Sensor in it a Original 5 Wire was in the car.

So I soaked the o2 Sensor base with PB Blaster and waited a day or so and Pulled it with the Sensor Socket... I had two of those Bosch 5 wire O2 Sensors that I bought a few years ago New in the box. Cleared the Code with Fuse 15 which was Good.....Started it with the New sensor and the Light returned within 1 min.

I was told some of the the o2 sensors Bosch with the honda Blue stickers worked on VX and Some Have had the same Issue of the Check engine Light coming on.

Now I checked MPGs and they still hitting 47mpg so at this point not seeing and real changes in MPGs ....I drive the car and have never seen greater then 50mpg on the car. it was sold new in North Carolina and is in Florida now so I think its A 49 State car.

So Love to hear any insights on this from you guys experiences....any other directions should I look.....I hate the thought of Dropping 400 bucks on O2 Sensor.... Also .Why they so High ?

You can get a ntk l1h1 oe sensor for 200$ on amazon or 02 sensor net. They are the only one that works correctly. Sucks to bite the bullet but just do it right.

Thanks Looks Like thats the ticket

I just Checked the Voltage on Yellow and Black 7.28 Volts

So Code 41 pretty much means I need new O2 sensor ?
this Bosch 13246 with honda sticker 36531-p07-003 was listed as a fit for the VX

This Bosch is Stamped NTK 12 volts What did people find out the reason these did not work....?

The NTK 24300 is listed online Will this one work ?

Crazy Bought Two that said they where the direct replacement the Bosch 13246 and the honda Part number on them 36531-p07-003 and they make check engine light on
Kind of getting Gun Shy

The ntk 24300 is the one to get. I got mine from amazon 180-190$ shipped from a 3rd party seller. It works and is the one to get the only other one that possibly will work is the denso but most will agree just get the ntk. Sorry mine was bad as well and I didn't want to pull the trigger either but glad I did. Price is determined by supply and demand and all the new 5 wire wideband 02 are $$. Be glad we only have 1 some v6 have 3.

I just bit the bullet and bought one I'll check my wire colors but it is a ntk in a ntk box and stamped on it ntk no sticker. I have lean burn and a shift light. When I bought the car it had a crap one in it and it had failed.

I have herd that the blue wire ones are bad but they could also be knock off ones. Make sure you get a true ntk24300 it has Lza09 stamped on it that is the correct one. Trust me.
