Bike was still idling low after new air filter and oil change. It’s been quite a few miles since my last spark plug change. Decided to use the iridium plugs. Supposed to get 60-100,000 miles before they need to be changed :)

Oil change time 1637 miles later. Noted the oil was brown and frothy. Going to start changing oil every 1,500 miles instead of every 2,000. Don’t want my bike working harder than it has to work.

Bike was idling low on cold starts. Changed filter and it improved a little on startup. More zip in general thanks to a clean filter haha! Still not right. Thinking oil change.

Ignition Coil Swap Bike was turning over and idle rough and low rpm. 1000rpm. Checked online and found it could be ignition coils and linked fuel line. Checked fuel line. Upgraded hose already done so not kinked. Removed cylinder 1,4 ignition coils and swapped. Connected all and started bike. Much better and back to normal with sound and cold start rpm range 1300-1500rpm ;) well, that didn’t last long haha. Maybe air filter or oil change? Will look into it next.

8,770 miles on front, front had wear that misshaped the tire but still had ware bar room 7,489 miles on rear. Mostly center ware. Started to show inside of tire. Changed next day :)

Had some play in the steering Steering was slow and I really had to push to lean Started hearing a thunk on hard braking Ordered all balls tapered bearings Tested much smoother and easier to turn in Feels more compliant Thumbs up!

Upgraded the front end with 2010 Yamaha R1 Forks Six pot calipers with brake pads R1 rotors 310mm R1 Front axel with spacers R1 Brembo MC R1 brake lever Kept stock FZ1 lines and rerouted for now

Chain was noticeably loose. Too much slack. Tightened to 1” slack and greased. Took a nice 30 minute ride to lube up the chain.

Replaced stock bars with Renthal Ultra Lows. Huge difference in comfort and handling for me! No more achy right wrist haha!

Bled front and rear brake lines. Removed stock rubber lines and upgraded to Galfer steel braided brake lines. Big difference in stopping power. I’ll change out the brake pads next ran out of time and wanted to ride!
