Catestrophic failure of No 2 Exhaust Valve retaining collett. Exhaust valve slipped into cylinder and bent, though it didn't damage the piston. Overhauled cylinder head, and replaced exhaust valve, spring, and retaining collett. Ground all valves. Work done mid-January. Parts from Motorcyclespareparts.eu.

Routine service. On reassembly the valves sounded clicky. Couldn't get them to sound right, even at specified clearances. Sounded like a skeleton having a wank in a biscuit tin. Far worse subsequently happened...

Oil + Filter change, spark plugs. Both plugs pale tan as they should be, left pot a bit darker.

Brakedown 3 weeks ago due to coil failure (Cylinder no 1). Replaced both coils, HT leads, plug caps, seals. In addition 3000 mile checks/service. Replaced drivechain and serviced brakes. Stripped, cleaned and reassembled both calipers, replaced pads. Pistons lightly corroded, will need replacing with next set of pads.

Replacement front and rear tyres. Heidenau K63 on front, K66 on rear. Would have liked a matching pair but this bike gas odd sizes. Stripped and cleaned front brake caliper: nothing replaced as overhaul kit not available. Replaced front brake pads, almost down to the metal.

Front wheel bearings replaced - front right bearing failed spectacularly going along Porthmadog bypass. Recovered to home via rac. Replacement bearing set £7.99
