A road trip to Salton Sea via AZ US95 to Needles, Blythe. Then to Glamis on CA78 to Calipatria and Sonny Bono Wildlife Refuge. Then to Unit 1 and on to Interstate 8 and Yuma to refuel. Drive started at 9PM, arrived at Wildlife Refuge at 5AM. Many stops along the way for photography. This route is mostly down hill from Searchlight +4000ft to Salton Sea -220ft. Hit the road at 11AM to Yuma, maintained speed limits. Slower on I-8 (65mph), from Brawly to Yuma, with slight headwind, AC and cruse control used. Arrived in Yuma about 230 PM. price of gas $2.56 regular.
