A 504.5 mile 2 day road trip (1st 500+ mile tank) from Vegas to Joshua Tree NP via Mojave National Preserve. About 10 miles off-road driving. Then to Barstow via 247 and to Ft Irwin and fuel up in Yermo. Winter desert conditions, winds 10 to 25, temps range from low 20s to high 30s in JTNP. Freeway temps 40s and 50s, with speeds 45 to 70mph. Long hill ascends and descends 1K to 3K ft.
