Dodge City KS (fill up) Averaged 50.9 mpg from Clayton lake state park NM to Hugoton KS was under 60 mph the whole time. elevation drop and thin air are probably the reason for the great mileage

filled up in Columbus Ohio from Davenport Iowa. it appears that driving on relatively flat lands hurt mpg, where hills improve mpg. the Lancer has the kind of power that does not lose a lot of mpg uphill, but benefits from the engine relaxing downhills.
