On the assumption that the misfire/hesitation is caused by water in the tank I went to Pep-Boys and bought a bottle of ISO-HEET additive. Added it to the tank and topped it off with additional gas to keep the tank full. Truck did not miss after that, but I would expect that the issue would be lingering a little more until most of the gas is used up (if indeed water in the tank is the problem). No charge for the additive, I used a $10 Pep-Boys Reward card.
